PONTE VEDRA, FL – On June 9, 2022, the golfing world was shocked with the inauguration of LIV Golf series , an unofficial golf league founded by former PGA Tour legend Greg 'Shark' Norman, in conjunction with Saudi Arabian Public Investments Fund . Top and elite pros including Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, Paul Casey, Graeme McDowell and 2023 European Ryder Cup captain Henrik Stenson were instantly signed into LIV Golf. ST. ANDREWS – The  2022 Open Championship , officially the 150th   Open Championship , is a  golf  tournament to be played 14–17 July on the  Old Course at St Andrews ,  Scotland . Collin Morikawa will defend the Claret Jug he won last year at Royal St. Georges . The Open Championship is organized by  the R&A , and is included in the  PGA Tour ,  European Tour/DP World Tour , and  Japan Golf Tour  calendars under the  major championships  category. The tournament is a 72-hole (4 rounds)  stroke play  competition held over 4 days, with 18 holes played each day. Play is in groups of three for the first two days, and groups of two in the final two days. Groupings for the first two days are decided by the organisers, with each group having one morning, and one afternoon tee time. It is a 72-hole  stroke play  tournament scheduled for June 16–19 at  The Country Club  in  Brookline, Massachusetts , a suburb west of  Boston . TULSA, OK – The  2022 PGA Championship  will be the 104th  PGA Championship , to be held from May 19–22 at  Southern Hills Country Club  in  Tulsa, Oklahoma . The event was originally intended to be played at  Trump National Golf Club Bedminster  in New Jersey. Phil Mickelson, two-time and defending champion, will miss this major championship due to his family business. Tiger Woods, four-time PGA champion, last won at Southern Hills back in 2007, is looking for his record-equaling five Wanamaker Trophy, which achieved by Walter Hagen during match play era (1916-1957) and Jack Nicklaus in recent stroke play era (1958-present). AUGUSTA, GA – In 2005, nine year-old Scottie Scheffler witnessed Tiger Woods' victorious birdie hole-out at 16th hole of Augusta National, and told his dad "I wanna win that green jacket". As part of University of Texas Longhorns golf team, Scheffler once told by his coach that winning the green jacket is a must dream come true. And on April 10, 2022, the dream has realised. AUGUSTA, GA – The  2022 Masters Tournament  will be the 86th edition of the  Masters Tournament  and the first of the men's four  major golf championships  held in 2022. It is scheduled to be played from April 7–10, 2022 at the  Augusta National Golf Club  in  Augusta, Georgia . Hideki Matsuyama will enter the tournament as defending champion, as Scottie Scheffler will make his 2nd Masters appearance as a new world no. 1 player. Tiger Woods will make his 24th Masters appearance, as the five-time champion is looking for record-equalling sixth green jacket which currently being held by Jack Nicklaus. Scheffler became the new world number one male golfer after 2022 WGC-Dell Matchplay win

AUSTIN, TX – Scottie Scheffler has finally achieved his dream to become world number one male golfer, after the Texan defeated Kevin Kisner to capture the 2022 WGC-Dell Matchplay title at Austin Country Club, Austin, Texas. With this third win in last five starts, the Dallas native ended Jon Rahm's reign as a world number one golfer which lasted for nine months. Rahm himself eliminated in round of 16, after the Spaniard lost to Brooks Koepka, who lost to Scheffler in quarterfinals. In doing so, Scheffler became the 2nd Dallas native to achieve this status since Jordan Spieth in 2015.
