PGA Championship 2021: Mickelson back in contention to win after 2nd round
Phil Mickelson continues to play his steady golf after tying for the lead through the 2nd round of 103rd PGA Championship at Kiawah Island Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The 2005 PGA champion is eyeing for his 2nd Wanamaker Trophy, with two rounds left. Mickelson (50), currently ranked outside top-100 in the Official World Golf Ranking shot 2-under in the opening round and 3-under in the 2nd round and tied for the lead with South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen, who's also seeking his 2nd major title since his 2010 British Open triumph. Oosthuizen shot 1-under on the opening round and carded his better 2nd round 4-under to tie the American five-time major champion who also won three Masters and the British Open in 2013. Another player in contention to win the PGA Championship is the two-time PGA champion Brooks Koepka. The American trailed Mickelson and Oosthuizen by one shot after two rounds.
