2024 MTV Video Music Awards winners list: Swift wins big again as Carpenter wins song of the year
Elmont, NY – The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards is the 41st annual running of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) since its inaugural edition in 1984. It also marks the 40th anniversary of the VMAs. The 2024 edition held in UBS Arena in New York, was originally to be scheduled on Tuesday September 10, however the event pushed back one day to Wednesday September 11, the day after 2024 U.S. Presiential election's second debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The award night was once again dominated by megastar Taylor Swift with seven award wins out of twelve nominations, including Best Artist, Best Pop, and Video Of The Year. With those wins, Swift has won more VMAs than anyone else in the VMA's 40-year history. Swift's 30 wins surpassed Beyonce Knowles's 27 wins.
