2024 Australian Open: Sinner shines to capture maiden grand slam title
Melbourne – The 2024 Australian Open men's singles championship gave the biggest surprise since the start of the Open era. Top players like Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, and defending champion Novak Djokovic were the tournament favorites; however, a young 22 year-old Italian underdog named Jannik Sinner made his Rod Laver Arena debut trying to defy the odds.
