2023 year in review: Dove Cameron

LOS ANGELES, CA – Singer-songwriter and actress Dove Cameron has had the busiest year in 2023: releasing music, acting, and as well as winning more awards. In this article, we recap Dove Cameron's activities throughout 2023, from January to December 2023.
1. January
On January, Cameron announced on her Twitter that the album will be titled "Celestial Body" (before eventually retitled into Alchemical). She also attended haute couture events at 2023 Paris Fashion Week.

2. February
In February, Cameron released her duet single with Khalid titled "We Go Down Together". Khalid previously dueted with Normani in 2018 with "Love Lies". Also in 2023, Khalid also released his solo single "Softest Touch".

3. March
Dove began the month by attending Billboard Women of Music event. Few days later, she won the 2023 Kids Choice Award for Favorite Breakout Artist, her 2nd KCA win after winning Favorite Movie Actress in 2020. Cameron played her role of Princess/Duchess Anastasia Romanov in the Mel Brooks' comedy History Of The World Part 2 miniseries which released on Hulu.

4. April
On April 5th, the season 2 of AppleTV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! premiered, this time took place at Schmicago. Unlike the previous season when she starred as Betsy McDonough, Cameron played the character Jenny Banks, a musical performer who had interest to perform with Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa (Cecily Strong). Later in April, Cameron released her collaboration with Diplo, Johnny Blue Skies and Sturgill Simpson in a song titled "Use Me (Brutal Hearts)". The song is featured on Diplo's new album Swamp Savant.

5. May-August
Throughout this period, Dove began recording for her new songs from her two-part album Alchemical.

6. September
On September 12, Dove won the MTV Video Music Award for Video For Good category courtesy of her music video for "Breakfast". She won against the likes of Demi Lovato, Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, Maluma, and Imagine Dragons. Also in September, Cameron collaborated with Marshmello in the song titled "Other Boys".

7. October
On October 20, Dove Cameron released her new single "Lethal Woman" which is one of the singles from her first part of her album Alchemical.

8. November
On November 6, Dove attended CFDA Fashion Awards in New York. A week later, she released another single from Alchemical: Volume 1 titled "Sand".

9. December
Alchemical: Volume 1 officially released worldwide on December 1; digitally through Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL and Deezer; and physically in CD on music stores worldwide. Later on December 27, Dove attended and performed at 46th Kennedy Center Honors in Washington DC, where she honored Renee Fleming, musical actress who had performed with Cameron on the 2019 musical adaptation of Light In the Piazza.
