LOS ANGELES, CA – On October 16th 2023, the Walt Disney Company (simply known as Disney) celebrates its 100th anniversary since being founded by the brothers Walt and Roy Disney in 1923. Throughout its first one hundered years, Disney has expanded into multiple successful brands, including Disneyland, Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, Buena Vista, the Disney Channel, and also expanded with Marvel, Pixar and 20th Century Studios.

It all began in mid 1920s, when Disney launched its first film titled Steamboat Willie, a very first film for Mickey Mouse which later became one of the biggest Disney icons alongside Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, etc. In 1930s Disney started their Disney fantasy units (both animated and live-action), starting from Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, which followed by Cinderella, Aladdin, Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, Beauty and The Beast, and Mary Poppins.

Since 1980s, Disney has became a more successful company with the formation of Disney Channel, a television channel which mainly aired highly dedicated Disney animated series, such as Mickey Mouse and Friends, Ducktales, and now extended into more successful animated and live-action shows and films licensed by Disney such as Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch, Phineas and Ferb, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, High School Musical, Descendants (which starring the sons and daugthers of Disney fantasy series from Disney Princess and Disney Villains), and many more to come.

In 2019, Disney launched Disney+, a digital streaming platform which includes libraries of films, TV shows and documentaries which licensed by Disney-ABC, Disney-Pixar, Disney-Marvel and Disney Channel. Disney+'s main rivals are Netflix, Peacock (owned by NBCUniversal) and Paramount+, the latter is a streaming service established by Paramount Global which owns CBS, MTV and Nickelodeon; while Disney-ABC owns Disney Channel, ABC, Freeform and ESPN.

Disney will continue to make great films, TV series and other medias for the next 100 years.
