My favorite video games of 2025 (released in 2025)
As 2025 drew to a close and 2026 is approaching, here we recap five of my favorite video games released in 2025. Which one is your favorite? Comment below!
Sonic the Hedgehog fans must play this open-world racing game featuring characters, vehicles and tracks from Sonic franchise, plus characters, vehicles and tracks from other franchises such as Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants and Pac-Man, as well as other Sega and its Sonic Team division franchises including Persona, Yakuza, Hatsune Miku, and soon-to-be played Nights into Dreams and Super Monkey Ball. However, Sonic fans must beware of Super Mario fans who played Mario Kart World, which has similar gameplay to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, albeit of Sonic vs. Super Mario rivalry. Either characters from Sonic franchise will be added to Mario Kart World or characters from Super Mario to be added into Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, or vice versa.
If you love music, and if you love dancing, Just Dance 2026 Edition is a perfect game for you! Here you can dance to all your favorite hit songs, including Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" (Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, 2008), Sabrina Carpenter's "Feather" (Emails I Can't Send FWD:, 2023), Chappell Roan's "Good Luck Babe!" (non-album single, 2024), Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra" (Mayhem, 2025), and many more. New to Just Dance 2026 Edition is Party Mode, which features Dr. Gigavolt as the mode's main character, where players face various disturbances and actions during each song to reach a target percentage to pass the test. Each session features 5, 8 or 12 tests, consisting of short versions of every song from every Edition song pack as well as the Just Dance+ catalogue; "Gold Moves" are removed from this mode. Completing each session unlocks a reward, if available. Just Dance 2026 Edition is available in PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S.
This game is must-played for soccer/association football lovers. With its slogan The Club Is Yours, you can create your own soccer team with your favorite stars in it which it referred to as the Ultimate Team. Or you can play your favorite soccer teams against each other from your favorite licensed leagues (such as Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Major League Soccer, and many more) as well as your favorite national teams.
3. F1 25
Formula One race fans must play this game on your PS5 in case if you missed the real F1 racing action. Just like the previous installments of the official FIA Formula 1 World Championship video game series, F1 25 features all drivers from 2025 FIA F1, F2 and F3 world championships and tracks featured on the 2025 official calendar. In addition of real racing gameplay experience there are two new additional game modes: Braking Point returns for the third chapter and follows the continuation from its first and second chapters previously featured on F1 21 and F1 23; and players can also race as characters from F1 The Movie in all race modes.
4. MotoGP 25
MotoGP 25 is the must-played racing game for motorcycle racing enthusiasts as well as MotoGP fans all over the world. With enhanced gameplay experience, players can race as one of favorite riders, teams, bikes and tracks from officially licensed FIM MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE world championships based on 2025 season. There are two gameplay modes in MotoGP 25: the arcade mode features classic gameplay experience without bike tuning options, while in pro mode, players must tune bike setup depending on rider's skill. There's also new off-track races: minimoto bikes, supermoto (known as motard) and flat tracks; this previously featured on Valentino Rossi The Game (MotoGP 16).Sonic the Hedgehog fans must play this open-world racing game featuring characters, vehicles and tracks from Sonic franchise, plus characters, vehicles and tracks from other franchises such as Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants and Pac-Man, as well as other Sega and its Sonic Team division franchises including Persona, Yakuza, Hatsune Miku, and soon-to-be played Nights into Dreams and Super Monkey Ball.
