Mercedes-Benz S 300 L - Indonesia's most popular luxury sedan
The Mercedes-Benz W221 S 300 L is one of the best-selling luxury sedan in Asia, especially in Indonesia. There are three types of the S 300 L sold for Asian market: Business, Luxury and Exclusive. The Indonesian version only available in one popular type: Solitaire.

For the Indonesian market, the W221 S 300 L (from its initial release in 2006) was powered by a 3,0L V6 engine (the same engine as the pre-facelift W204 C 280/C 300 and pre-facelift W212 E 300) which produced 231 PS (228 hp) and torque of 300 Nm. In 2011, the car was facelifted in terms of interior, exterior and engine. From the 2011 model year, the post-facelifted W221 S 300 L still used the same engine, but the power was raised to 245 PS (242 hp) with the torque remain unchanged at 300 Nm, similar to the engine used by the post-facelifted W212 E 300. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h by just eight seconds with top speed 245 km/h.
The interior of the the W221 S 300 L features the infotainment system, consisting of FM/AM radio tuner, 6-disc changer for CD and DVD, as well as USB and memory card slots. The rear seat entertainment is also available on any S-Class models, except the diesel-powered variant S 250 CDI.
The production of W221 was discontinued in 2013 due to the start of the production for the W221 successor, the W222.
