2026 Grammy Awards nominees: Carpenter gets six nods, snubs for Coldplay and The Weeknd

Los Angeles, CA – The nominees for the 68th annual Grammy Awards which will be held on February 1, 2026 at Crypto.com Arena has been officially announced on Friday, November 7, 2025. Among the nominees, rapper Kendrick Lamar who won five awards including Record of The Year in the previous (67th) edition became the most nominated artist with nine categories, including the same that he won in the previous edition. Lady Gaga is the most nominated female singer with seven categories.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter who won two of six nominations in the 67th Grammys is once again earned another six nodes for the 68th edition. The former Disney Channel star sensation is nominated in six categories including the two of which she won in the 67th edition.

- Category changes
For the 68th Grammys, two new categories were introduced: Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album. Best Contemporary Country Album is the new name for Best Country Album which has been contested since 1965.

- No Grammy nods for Coldplay?

Meanwhile, British rock band Coldplay are currently enjoyed their success with their recent album Moon Music. Fans were expected that the band would have been nominated for the 68th Grammy Awards in such categories. However, after the nominees announced on November 7, Coldplay didn't announce as a nominee in any category for the 68th Grammys and went in favor to their rival Linkin Park. Even though, the multiple Grammy-winners and nominee Coldplay have since nominated on Grammys in any album era since Parachutes (2000) with Moon Music didn't make the cut.

Coldplay are not only favorites being snubbed in the 68th Grammys; The Weeknd (led by Abel Tesfaye) also being snubbed from the flagship music award as well.
