Chronology (and updates) from 2022 Itaewon Tragedy
SEOUL – On the night of October 29, 2022 , a crowd crush occurred during Halloween festivities in Itaewon , Seoul , South Korea. At least 154 people died, and at least 133 others were injured (as of October 31, 2022 @ 12:00 pm KST). The crowd crush is the deadliest disaster in South Korea since the sinking of MV Sewol in 2014, which killed 306 people; and 2nd in Asia over the past four weeks following the Indonesia's Kanjuruhan tragedy in Malang, East Java, 28 days earlier on October 1, 2022, which killed over 130 people. - Victims From 154 killed victims, two of them were Americans. The known deaths consisted of 97 females and 56 males.
