LONDON – Liverpool have won their eighth FA Cup title (their first since 2006) after beating Chelsea in a dramatic penalty shoot-out 6-5. The 2×45min and 2×15 extra-time match initally ended in a 0-0 draw. The Reds are favorites to win the cup with top-rated players Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, James Milner, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino listed in the line-up. Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic, N'Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso and Timo Werner were The Blues' top-rated players.
With this win, Liverpool equaled Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur's eight FA Cups, six trophies behind 2020 champions Arsenal with fourteen FA Cup titles.

- Looking for treble
After winning the FA Cup, Liverpool are going to complete treble (winning Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League titles in same season). In the two remaining Premier League matchweeks, the Anfield Kop must beat Manchester City by winning the last two matches of the season (at least if Manchester City suffering a draw and probably defeated by Liverpool in the title derby). In the Champions League final which will take place at Stade De France in Paris, France, Liverpool must beat Spanish Premier League/La Liga champions Real Madrid on May 28. Los Blancos also looking for treble, after they previously won the Spanish Super Cup in January at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
