2021 US Open men's singles final preview - Djokovic vs. Medvedev 2: 21st grand slam title on Novak's sights

The 2021 US Open men's singles final between world's top 2 male tennis players Novak Djokovic (#1) and Daniil Medvedev (#2) will be their 2nd meeting in a grand slam final. Djokovic previously defeated Medvedev at Australian Open final in February.

With the absence of other top 5 players Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem, Djokovic and Medvedev played calm throughout the tournament. In the semifinals, Djokovic defeated Alexander Zverev while Medvedev defeated Auger Aliassime.

Djokovic won his 20th grand slam title at Wimbledon by defeating Matteo Berrettini. If Djokovic defeats Medvedev in the US Open final, the Serbian will become the first men's singles tennis player to win 21 grand slam titles. Otherwise, if Medvedev wins, he will become 1st Russian grand slam winner.
