Kim Sejeong shows incredible fighting talent in her new drama "The Uncanny Counter"

Actress, singer and musician Kim Sejeong (24) has turned into a fighting athlete, as she stars in the new action drama "The Uncanny Counter", an action drama which based from the webtoon series of the same title. In the drama, she joined with actors Jo Byeong-gyu and Yoo Jun-sang, portraying as the members of the "counters".

The drama aired its first episode on Saturday, November 28, 2020. New episodes aired every Saturday and Sunday nights at 10:30pm KST on OCN. Global viewers can also watch this drama on Netflix. The 16th and final episode will be aired on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Not only starred in the drama, but Sejeong also contributed to the drama's soundtrack which released on December 20. The soundtrack is also used as the ending theme for the drama from episode 8 to the final episode.

- Background
Sejeong released her debut mini-album "Plant" on March 17, 2020. Five-months later in August, she released her 2nd single album "Whale". Filming for the music video for "Whale" took place in July 2020. At the time of the "Whale" music video filming, Sejeong revealed that she had already owned muscles in both right and left arms. Sejeong said that her muscles would be used while filming for the upcoming action drama "The Uncanny Counter", which she portrayed as Do Hana, one of four members of "the counters".

- Production
In July 2020, the cast members of the TV series were finalized. Kim Sejeong is another singer turned actor to take an unusual role of esper, acting as the team's radar. The script reading session was held in October 2020. The first look was released on October 19, 2020, giving sneak peek into characters.

This drama reunites Jo Byung-gyu and Lee Ji-won who previously worked together in a commercial hit drama Sky Castle.

- Viewership ratings
The first episode of the series logged an average viewership ratings of 2.7% nationwide and 3.2% in metropolitan area, peaking to an high of 4.1%. The second episode logged ratings of 4.35%, witnessing an unusual increase in average nationwide viewership compared to the ratings of the first episode. The audience rating for the 3rd episode was 5.2% nationwide. It rose 0.8% points from the ratings of last two episodes. The 8th episode recorded a rating of 9.3% for nationwide audience, which is the highest so far for the series.
