Gugudan members in the drama screen
Since debuted in 2016, Jellyfish Entertainment girl group Gugudan have shown their singing talents and quality with three mini-albums, two single-albums and two sub-unit releases. Despite never releasing an album since November 2018, the group is currently busy for the members' solo activities, including Sejeong's solo mini-album "Plant" which released in March 2020.
Similar to Sejeong, Mina is also good in acting performance. In 2018, she made her acting debut by starring as lead character Jum Soon-yi in the drama "Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter". Also in 2018, she starred in a web film "Dokgo Rewind" alongside EXO's Sehun.
But one of the most important solo activities by most of girl group members is starring in a drama.
As of October 2020, some of Gugudan members have also prove their acting skills by starring a drama. Who are they?
1. Kim Sejeong
Sejeong was a former contestant of Produce 101 (2016), where she debuted on a project girl group I.O.I. after ranked 2nd in the show's finale. She then announced by Jellyfish Entertainment to be part of the label's girl group Gugudan at the same year.
In 2017, Sejeong made her acting debut by starring in a drama "School 2017" making her role as lead character Ra Eunho. Sejeong won her first award as an actress at the 2017 KBS Drama Awards, winning the best new actress category.
Sejeong's outstanding acting confidence continues in 2019, when she made another lead role in drama "I Wanna Hear Your Song", which earned her another award win and nomination at 2019 KBS Drama Awards.
It was announced in October 2020 that Sejeong will starring in a new drama "Wonderful Rumors"(TV title: "Uncanny Counter"), which set to be aired starting November 28, 2020.
2. Kang Mina
In 2019, she made her supporting role act in a drama "Hotel del Luna" as Kim Yuna.
In September 2020, Mina was announced to star in a drama titled "Summer Guys", but the character she took place in the drama is still to be announced.
3. Liu Xiening
The Chinese member of Gugudan known as Sally made her acting debut by starring the Chinese drama "Hello My Rival" in 2019.
4. Shin Bora
The leading member of Gugudan has just recently made her acting debut by starring in a web drama "My Fuxxxxx Romance" which aired its pilot episode on October 15, 2020.
5. Jung Mimi
In 2018, Mimi made her full acting debut in a drama "I Picked Up a Celebrity on the Street". Then in the following year in 2019 she made another acting breakthrough in the drama "Extraordinary You". She also made cameo appearances, notably in the dramas "One Sunny Day" (2014) and "The Producers" (2015).
