How did Chris Martin of Coldplay being involved in Blackpink's new single "Go"?

Seoul and London – K-pop girl group Blackpink released their new EP titled Deadline on Friday, February 27, 2026. The EP features two singles: "Jump" which was released in June 2025, and "Go" which released to coincide the EP's release. The latter was co-written by all four Blackpink members Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim, Roseanne Park and Lalisa Manobal, and with additional songwritting credits from frontman of British alternative rock group Coldplay, Chris Martin. But how did Martin involve for Blackpink songwriting?

It all began in 2024, where Lisa performed as a headliner alongside Martin at the Global Citizen Festival at New York in September 2024. Lisa then asked Martin that her group will collaborated with Martin for production of their new EP Deadline. Martin granted Lisa's request, and by summer 2025 it was reported that Martin and the four members of Blackpink began recording for the single "Go".
