Review of Sabrina Carpenter's seventh album Man's Best Friend

Los Angeles, CA – After success with her sixth studio album Short n' Sweet which garnered huge success, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter is back with her seventh studio album, Man's Best Friend. Released by Island Records on August 29, 2025, the album spawned two lead singles: "Manchild" which became Carpenter's second number one single in the US after last year's "Please Please Please"; and "Tears" which released in conjunction with the album's release. For this album, the Girl Meets World star and "Espresso" singer used renowned music producers Jack Antonoff, John Ryan and Amy Allen to produce the album, as Julian Bunetta who worked on Carpenter's previous albums Emails I Can't Send and Short n' Sweet did not involve in production of Man's Best Friend.

There are 12 (13 on LP) tracks on Carpenter's seventh album, mostly written by Carpenter, Antonoff, Allen and Ryan. For this album, Carpenter blended songs with mix of country-pop (as for songs she co-written with Antonoff), dance-pop and synth-pop.

- Singles
The album's first single "Manchild" was released on June 5, 2025 and topped both the US and UK singles charts. It is nominated for multiple categories at 2025 MTV Video Music Awards including Video Of The Year (can Sabrina win?). The second single of the album, "Tears" was inspired from Donna Summer and Baccara's 1977 hit "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie".

To promote the album, Carpenter continues to embark on the the final legs of Short n' Sweet Tour, where she perform songs from her seventh album.

Since 2016, top digital music platform  Spotify released an annual year-end lists named Spotify Wrapped . Spotify Wrapped is an annual year-end charts which chosen by its artists and users. Users simply list their own top streamed artists and its albums and songs into the list. Although I'm not a full-time Spotify user, but here are our top 10 Spotify Wrapped songs list of 2024 chosen by me! (including honorable mentions).
