2025 Masters: McIlroy wins green jacket, completes grand slam at Augusta

Augusta, GA – Northern Irish golfer Rory Daniel McIlroy had been waited for years to complete his grand slam quest (winning all four different major championships: Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship) since 2015. And on Sunday (April 13, 2025), the man from Hollywood, Northern Ireland finally realizes his life long dream and ends his long wait by draining a par putt to win the 89th Masters Tournament through a sudden-death playoff process against Justin Rose. After winning the playoff, McIlroy is congratulated by his friends, his family, his wife Erica and his daughter Poppy, on his way to Butler Cabin where Rory wears the green jacket for the first time in his life. 
The final round of 2025 Masters saw plenty of dramas. 54-hole leader Bryson DeChambeau collapsed at the Amen Corner, while defending champion and world number one Scottie Scheffler attempted to defend his green jacket since Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002, however Scheffler finished fourth after stumbled on the final three holes and must to hand over his green jacket to McIlroy. Rose birdied the 72nd hole after McIlroy bogeyed the final hole, as the Masters champion forced to be decided in sudden-death play-off (last time occured in 2017 when Rose lost to Sergio Garcia). This time though, Rose once again lost to McIlroy, who deserved to win the green jacket after years of long wait and impatience following his last major triumphs at 2011 U.S. Open, 2012 and 2014 PGA Championships and 2014 British Open.
Rory McIlroy raised the Masters trophy and fully deserved to wear the green jacket.

With the completion of "Rory Slam", McIlroy joins Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in post-war golf history to achieve a career grand slam, the second ever non-American to do so after Player. The win also elevated McIlroy back to world number one, as well as topping the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup and DP World (European) Tour's Race To Dubai standings.

2024 MTV Video Music Awards winners list: Swift wins big again as Carpenter wins song of the year

Elmont, NY – The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards is the 41st annual running of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) since its inaugural edition in 1984. It also marks the 40th anniversary of the VMAs. The 2024 edition held in UBS Arena in New York, was originally to be scheduled on Tuesday September 10, however the event pushed back one day to Wednesday September 11, the day after 2024 U.S. Presiential election's second debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. UBS Arena (pictured in 2021) hosted the 2024 MTV VMAs . The award night was once again dominated by megastar  Taylor Swift with seven award wins out of twelve nominations, including Best Artist, Best Pop, and Video Of The Year. Since 2016, top digital music platform  Spotify released an annual year-end lists named Spotify Wrapped . Spotify Wrapped is an annual year-end charts which chosen by its artists and users. Users simply list their own top streamed artists and its albums and songs into the list.
