2024 Mexico City Grand Prix: Sainz Jr. joins title fight with a win as Verstappen vs. Norris battle came into Austin dejavu

Mexico City – Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz Jr. proves that he is one of the genuine title contenders for the 2024 FIA Formula 1 World Championship thanks to his victory at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit on Sunday, October 27, 2024. The 30-year-old Spaniard who started from pole did his smooth operation racing without mistakes from start to finish (as Sainz's favorite song "Smooth Operator" by Sade suggests) to claim his second win of the season after the Australian GP last April following his appendicitis surgery the previous month in March. Sainz's former McLaren teammate Lando Norris and Sainz's current Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc completed the podium in second and third respectively.
Just like Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump battle for the U.S. President, the Verstappen vs. Norris battle for the F1 world title also getting heated up with four rounds remaining.

Reigning world champion and current championship leader Max Verstappen finished sixth behind the two Mercedes drivers Sir Lewis Hamilton (fourth) and George Russell (fifth) after the Red Bull Racing driver was sanctioned a twenty-second time penalty for forcing Norris off the track and did a dirty overtaking on Norris. Those collision between the top-two contenders resumed since where it was previously happened in Austin, Texas last week. The title fight will be narrowly gets tightened and heated wide open with four rounds left (Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi), not only between Verstappen and Norris, but also for the Prancing Horses of Leclerc and Sainz Jr., as well as the Silver Arrows of Russell and Hamilton.
