2024 F1 World Championship Calendar
SAKHIR – The 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship is a planned motor racing championship for Formula One cars set to be the 75th running of the Formula One World Championship (in its 74th anniversary of the world championship run). It is recognized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body of international motorsports, as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. The championship is scheduled to be contested over a record twenty-four Grands Prix held around the world, beginning in March at Bahrain and ending in December at Abu Dhabi.
Drivers and teams will compete for the titles of World Drivers' Champion and World Constructors' Champion, respectively. Dutch driver Max Verstappen is the reigning Drivers' Champion since 2021, while his team/constructor, Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT, are the reigning Constructors' Champions since 2022.
A. Calendar
The 2024 calendar comprises a record twenty-four Grands Prix. The Chinese, Miami, Austrian, United States, São Paulo and Qatar Grands Prix will feature the sprint format.
- Calendar changes
The Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled to return to the calendar for the first time since 2019 after being canceled for four years in a row due to difficulties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix/Imola GP, which was canceled in 2023 due to flooding in the area, is scheduled to return to the calendar. The Russian Grand Prix was under contract to feature on the 2024 calendar. However, the contract was terminated in 2022 in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
