Masters 2023 final results - Rahm emerges victorious at Augusta in Seve's birthday
Augusta, GA – In 2017, Sergio Garcia won the green jacket for Spain during Seve Ballesteros' birthday; that day, Jon Rahm made his debut at Augusta. Today in April 9, 2023, it became Rahm's turn to dedicate it triumphantly. Rahm's strong form in 2023 began from his included two wins in California: La Quinta and Los Angeles.
Before Jon and Sergio, there were Spanish names who attempt to win the green jacket since Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal. Miguel Angel Jimenez attempted to win green jacket several times in late 1990s, mid 2000s and in 2014, but failed. Other Spanish rising stars like Rafael Cabrera Bello and Alvaro Quiros also made their attempt to win the green jacket but also failed.
That was until 2017, when Sergio came to determinate his courage during the birthday of the late Seve Ballesteros. Sergio stormed through the field and beats British gold medalist Justin Rose in a playoff. From there, Jon continues to learn how to conquer Augusta National and win the green jacket.
This year, in 2023, Jon has learned that winning the jacket isn't as tough as it gets. His ten year dream now became reality, even though he became a father after his 2021 U.S. Open victory at San Diego.
