2022 FIFA World Cup current topscorers (as of December 4)

DOHA – The 2022 FIFA World Cup is approaching the quarterfinals, with defending champions France already advanced to quarterfinals after defeating Poland 3-1 in the round of 16. And here are the current top scorers from the 2022 FIFA World Cup updated as of December 4.

1. Kylian Mbappe (5 goals)
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star scored five goals for France, including his braces he scored against Denmark in group stage and most recently against Poland. Mbappe is also a current topscorer in 2022-23 French Premier League (Ligue 1) with 12 goals, as well as joint-topscorer in current UEFA Champions League campaign with PSG scoring 7 goals.

2. Lionel Messi
Mbappe's fellow PSG star Lionel Messi contributed three goals for Argentina national team. Messi joined PSG for 2021-22 after his shocking departure from multiple La Liga champions FC Barcelona last year, as Messi currently finds his new foundation in his 2nd season with PSG.

Having played as loyal superstar in Arsenal and Chelsea and currently as underdog with A.C. Milan, Giroud scored three goals for France in his 2022 World Cup campaign.

4. Marcus Rashford
Rashford is not only the current topscorer for England in World Cup, but also topscorer for Man United in his current Premier League season.
