Cars to watch at GIIAS 2022
JAKARTA – The 2022 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) is the 29th running of the annual auto show held from August 11-21, 2022 at ICE (Indonesian Convention Exhibition) BSD City, Tangerang, Southwest Jakarta. Similar to most motor shows worldwide, GIIAS presented new cars and new-generation cars from world's top automobile manufacturers. With "Future Is Bright" as the theme for this year's edition, GIIAS 2022 will also present new all electric cars that expected to reduce air pollutions in Indonesia by 2030.
Here are some new cars to watch at GIIAS 2022!
1. Nissan Terra
Nissan Terra marks its return to the Indonesian market with new facelifted model. The engines maybe unchanged but there are some changes in the interior, and of course new driving and improved safety features. Aside of Terra, NMI also presented new Kicks and Leaf hybrid cars
2. Hyundai Stargazer
Launched in July 2022, Hyundai Stargazer is the first ever all-electric family MPV car launched in Indonesia. Within few weeks of its launch, Hyundai Stargazer became the most wanted car for over hundred thousands of families in Indonesia. Starting 2022, Hyundai Indonesia will increase their market for electric cars like Kona, Ioniq 5 and Stargazer.
At GIIAS 2022, PT Toyota Astra Motor started their alliance with Toyota Gazoo Racing (Toyota motorsport division) with GR-Sport sporty-oriented variant cars. Those cars are: Toyota 86 GR-S (a.k.a. GR86), Toyota Supra GR-S, Toyota Hi-Lux GR-S, Toyota Land Cruiser GR-S, Toyota Fortuner GR-S (available in 2,8L turbodiesel only), Toyota Yaris GR-S, Toyota Rush GR-S, and Toyota Raize GR-S.
4. Honda
Honda will present its new generation of Civic turbo which will be a single variant (turbo RS) for Indonesian market. Besides, Honda will also focus with their hybrid and electric cars.
