Jeon Somi - XOXO (album review)

Former Produce 101 (2016) winner Jeon Somi returns with her new album "XOXO". Released in October 29th, 2021, the album spawned three singles: "Birthday" which released two years ago in 2019, "What You Waiting For" (2020), and two singles released in 2021: "Dumb Dumb" and the title track "XOXO". The album released digitally on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify.

- Who is Jeon Somi?
Jeon Somi was born as Ennik Douma on March 9, 2001. She has a younger sister, Evelyn, who is eight years younger than her. Her father is a Dutch-Canadian while her mother is a Korean. In 2015, Somi contested in an auditional program called Sixteen, but failed to debut as a member of recent popular girl group Twice. In 2016, she contested in Produce 101 representing JYP Entertainment, and won the show to debut with a short-lived girl group I.O.I. from April 2016 until January 2017.

Later that year in summer 2017, Somi left JYP due to her contract expiry. Few months later, Somi signed her contract with The Black Label, YG Entertainment's subsidiary label.
