Former Iz*One member An Yujin tested positive for Covid-19
Starship Entertainment on Saturday morning (September 4) announced the news that their artist An Yujin has tested positive for COVID-19, a week after her labelmate Jang Wonyoung was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Last week, both Yujin (18) and Wonyoung (17) underwent testing for COVID-19 after learning that they had crossed paths with a staff member who later tested positive for the virus. While Wonyoung’s test results came back positive, Yujin tested negative at the time, though she still went into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure.
On September 4, Starship Entertainment announced that while in self-quarantine, Yujin (18) had tested positive for COVID-19 after developing a sore throat and fever.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
"Hello, this is Starship Entertainment.
While in self-quarantine, our artist An Yu Jin has tested positive for COVID-19.
On August 28, An Yu Jin underwent PCR testing after a non-company staff member with whom she had crossed paths tested positive for COVID-19. On the morning of August 29, her test results came back negative, but because health authorities classified her as a close contact of the COVID-19 patient, she went into self-quarantine.
During her self-quarantine, An Yu Jin voluntarily used self-testing kits to test herself, and while closely monitoring her health, she began to show symptoms of a sore throat and fever. After notifying public health authorities, she underwent PCR testing, and on the morning of September 4, her test results came back positive.
She is currently following the instructions of health authorities and taking all necessary measures.
We apologize for giving many people cause for concern. Our agency will adhere to health authorities’ guidelines and do our utmost to help our artist recover quickly."
Wishing both Yujin and Wonyoung a speedy recovery!
