2021 British Grand Prix - Analyzing Verstappen-Hamilton clash at Copse

Lewis Hamilton won his 99th Formula 1 win in the dramatic process at British Grand Prix in Silverstone (July 18). The drama went happened on the opening lap of the race, when Hamilton collided with his title rival Max Verstappen at Copse. As the result, Verstappen's Red Bull Racing car spun off heavily at over 130 mph (210 km/h) into the barrier. The commentators said that there's no space for Hamilton to overtake Verstappen. As the result, the race direction penalized Hamilton a ten-second time penalty, as the Mercedes driver served his penalty in his 2nd pitstop.

Verstappen being helped by medical car driver dr. Alan van der Merwe after being collided by title rival Hamilton.

Following the incident, Verstappen was taken to the hospital for further checks on his body from the impact of the incident. Later, the doctors in the hospital stated that there are no injuries sustained by Verstappen from the impact of the incident.

According to Jolyon Palmer, he stated that the Hamilton and Verstappen clash was deemed as a racing accident*
