Verstappen victorious at Imola as Hamilton maintains championship lead despite crashing into the wall

Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) dominated the entire Imola Grand Prix race by winning the chaotic race which took place at the mixed track conditions (wet and dry). At the early stages of the race, Verstappen and title rival Lewis Hamilton battled each other for the race lead, but on lap 33, Hamilton made a big mistake that nearly caused him a DNF after hitting the wall. Thankfully, the Mercedes driver carried on his car to the pitlane for repairing the damaged front wing, and relegated to 10th place, until the race was stopped on lap 34 after the incident involving Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas and Williams driver George Russell.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) barely retired from the Imola GP race after hitting the wall, that caused his winning chances slipped through his fingers.

Hamilton was in 9th place after the restart, and overtook all the drivers ahead of him to take 2nd place, but unable to catch Verstappen until the chequered flag.
