How did Romain Grosjean learn from Niki Lauda's 1976 German Grand Prix incident?

Image
The 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix race won by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, was headlined by the huge opening lap incident involving Haas driver Romain Grosjean, who survived from the incident after hitted the barrier heavily. The French driver is currently hospitalized for further treatment in the hospital near Sakhir circuit.  Grosjean's incident at Sakhir reminds F1 fans to what similarly happened to Niki Lauda in the 1976 German Grand Prix, when Lauda was stuck in his burned car, and later being saved by three drivers (including Guy Edwards and Brett Lunger) who saved him (Lauda). Because of major injuries sustained in that incident, Lauda then missed two races before returning at Italian Grand Prix. The 'halo' in most recent F1 cockpit has successfully saved Grosjean's life. He instantly got out from his burned car soon after he knew his car being burned. From this case, I think Grosjean had learnt from Lauda's 1976 incident. Get well soon R...

Anthony Hamilton, the father behind the driver's seven Formula 1 world titles and 94 Formula 1 Grand Prix race wins

Image
Anthony Hamilton has been part of his son's success as Formula 1 world champion. It all began in Christmas 1993, when Anthony bought his son Lewis a kart, before Anthony allowed Lewis to compete in the junior national karting championship in 1995, when Lewis won the cadet title in 1996, won the Formula Yamaha title in 1997, but lost the premier-class junior intercontinetal A (JICA) title in 1998 to Fraser Sheader. Anthony continues to manage Lewis until Lewis' debut in Formula 1 in 2007 with McLaren, the team who helped Lewis into his successful karting career. He (Anthony) also helped Lewis to win his first world title in 2008. But it all went wrong from 2009 until his departure from McLaren in 2012. Lewis' relationship with American singer Nicole Scherzinger causing his title winning chances disappeared, so Anthony called Lewis to reject his (Lewis) relationship with Scherzinger and it did in late 2013, which currently she (Nicole Scher...

How does an Formula 1 Simulator work?

Image
F1 cars are the pmost sophisticated automotive machines in the world - and yet, testing them on track or in the wind tunnel is extremely limited. There are only six days of pre-season testing and each race weekend comes with only four hours of practice. That's why Formula One teams rely on gathering data in the virtual world more than ever before - and a big part of that work is simulation. This area has become even more crucial during the 2020 season, because of the many new tracks on the calendar. What types of simulation do F1 teams use? There are a few areas of simulation that F1 teams use to prepare for a Grand Prix weekend, but the two main ones are driver-in-loop and computer simulation. Driver-in-loop (DiL) is effectively our virtual test track, where our car and the tracks we race on are modelled in incredible detail, to enable us to develop the car, find the right set-up direction and help the drivers familiarise themselves with a track in a virtual environmen...

Lewis Hamilton's most recent success as the greatest driver of all-time in Formula 1 with 94 race wins and seven world titles was not far from his karting career's success. The British driver won the national karting championship before he's being called by Ron Dennis as part of McLaren Young Driver Program. Started the race from 2nd on the grid, Hamilton dropped to third place, letting his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas leading the race from pole position. In order to win the constructors title for seventh consecutive season, both Mercedes drivers must finish the race at least in fourth place. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) crashed out from 2nd place after he suffered tire failure in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola. It was his third DNF of the season for Verstappen after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello. Max Verstappen was in the early charge of winning the race and became the only hope to deny Mercedes' constructor title celebration. However, the Red Bull Racing driver suffered puncture, causing him out of the race. ...
