Lewis Hamilton wins the Emilia Romagna GP as Mercedes sealed their seventh constructors title
After breaking Michael Schumacher's record of most F1 wins by driver at the Portuguese GP, Lewis Hamilton continues his winning form by winning the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola Circuit, San Marino.
Started the race from 2nd on the grid, Hamilton dropped to third place, letting his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas leading the race from pole position. In order to win the constructors title for seventh consecutive season, both Mercedes drivers must finish the race at least in fourth place.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) crashed out from 2nd place after he suffered tire failure in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola. It was his third DNF of the season for Verstappen after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello.
Max Verstappen was in the early charge of winning the race and became the only hope to deny Mercedes' constructor title celebration. However, the Red Bull Racing driver suffered puncture, causing him out of the race.
Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) finished third in the Emilia Romagna GP after he battled Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Daniel Kvyat (AlphaTauri) throughout the race. It was the Aussie's 2nd podium of the season for Ricciardo after the Eifel GP
Soon after the safety car restart, Alexander Albon was in 6th place while chasing Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) and Sergio Perez (Racing Point). However, disaster for that another Red Bull driver, as Albon spun off in the same location his teammate (Verstappen) crashed out, causing him losing the points as well.
After 63 laps completed at Imola, Hamilton takes his 93rd career F1 race win, with his Mercedes teammate Bottas finishing 2nd in the race. And with that, Mercedes successfully secured their seventh constructors title since the turbo-hybrid era began in 2014.

Meanwhile in the drivers standings, Hamilton increases his lead from Bottas by 85 points, as the next race, the Turkish Grand Prix returns to Istanbul in two weeks time.
