2024 Dutch GP: Norris denies Verstappen's home delight in a thrilling race at Zandvoort

Zandvoort – The second half of the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship season begins at Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, where reigning world champion and current world championship leader Max Verstappen is eager to win in front of his home crowd once again in Zandvoort. Starting second on the grid, the Red Bull Racing driver led the early stages of the race, only before McLaren driver Lando Norris poised to deny Verstappen's quattrick of home wins at Zandvoort. On lap 18, Norris overtook Verstappen to take the race lead and to silence the Dutch crowd as well. Since then, the young British driver never looked back and won the race by over a countrymile as Verstappen still gets much delight from home fans despite settled for 2nd in the race. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc completed the podium in third place after the Monegasque gambled with two-stop strategy.
Norris (McLaren) came out victorious after beating Verstappen at Zandvoort.

With the win, Norris became the third McLaren driver in 21st century Formula 1 history to win multiple races in a single season since Lewis Hamilton in 2012 and Kimi Raikkonen in 2005. The next race will take place at the Temple Of Speed in Monza for the Italian Grand Prix next weekend.
