2024 Belgian Grand Prix: Hamilton takes another historic win as Russell gets disqualified post-race

Stavelot, WAL – The 2024 Belgian Grand Prix at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps Circuit brought another late race drama as the drivers will heading to the summer break before starting the 2nd half of the world championship at Zandvoort circuit in Dutch GP in late August. The 2024 Belgian Grand Prix saw the two Mercedes drivers George Russell and Sir Lewis Hamilton dominated the entire race as they fought each other for the victory until the checkered flag waved on the 44th lap of the race. And it was the no. 44 of Hamilton who came out victorious once again despite finished 2nd over the finish line; as his teammate, the no. 63 of Russell enjoyed his winning triumph that lasted by one hour, before the FIA later investigated that Russell's car was found underweight, thus disqualified Russell from the race.
Hamilton (Mercedes) won his 105th career F1 race at the Belgian GP, the second T-most successful driver at the Belgian track (shared with Ayrton Senna) behind Michael Schumacher.
Russell (Mercedes) won the race, but later disqualified due to technical infringement (underweight) by the FIA stewards.

For Hamilton, it became his 2nd win of the 2024 season after his home race at Silverstone. He also shared with Ayrton Senna for five wins at the Belgian track, only one win shy of Michael Schumacher with six. Completed the podium are the last week's Hungarian GP winner Oscar Piastri (McLaren) in 2nd, with Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc who started for pole finished third place. Meanwhile, championship leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) has to settle for fourth place in the race after started the race 12th on the grid. His teammate Sergio Perez finished seventh with one point for fastest lap scored in the final lap after Perez evaded the attack from Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso.
