124th U.S. Open leaderboard after Round 1

Pinehurst, NC – After the conclusion of the opening round of the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 on Thursday (Jun. 13), 2011 U.S. Amateur winner Patrick Cantlay and 2011 U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy shared the lead with their own first round scores of five-under par sixty five. 2024 Masters runner-up Ludvig Åberg is only one stroke behind the two co-leaders with his opening round score of four-under par sixty six. 2020 U.S. Open champion Bryson Dechambeau scored a three-under sixty seven and currently tied for fourth after the first round with Frenchman Mathieu Pavon. Jackson Suber, making his U.S. Open debut replacing 2021 U.S. Open champion Jon Rahm opened the tournament by scoring one-under par sixty nine in the opening round. Suber is currently tied for ninth through first round, alongside Canadian golfer Corey Conners and 2022 U.S. Amateur winner Sam Bennett.
