Happy Birthday Sabrina Carpenter!

NEW YORK, NY – Happy birthday to the great, young and multitalented singer-songwriter and actress Sabrina Ann Lynn Carpenter! The former Disney Channel star who rose to stardom with her role as Maya Hart in Disney Channel hit TV show Girl Meets World, is officially turned 25 today. To celebrate, let's breakdown Sabrina Carpenter's successful life and career so far!

A. Early life and career beginning
Sabrina Ann Lynn Carpenter was born in Quakertown, 40 miles from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1999. She's raised from the family of her dad David and her mom Elizabeth, whom also grew up their two older daughters Shannon (born in 1994) and Sarah (born in October 1996). Shannon and Sarah are Sabrina's sisters, while Cayla was her half-sister from David's previous marriage before marrying Elizabeth. During her early life (until today), Sabrina lived with her family.

In 2011, Sabrina made her debut as a singer and actress; as a singer, she released her debut single "Fall Apart", and as an TV actress, she debuted herself in the 2011 episode of Law & Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit) titled "Possesed". Her debut movie acting was in 2012, when she starred in the film Noobz as Brittney. Back in 2009, she placed third in the Next Miley Cyrus Project run by former Disney Channel star Miley Cyrus.

B. Disney Channel rising stardom
In 2013, Sabrina was cast in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (a spin-off from 1993-2000 ABC series Boy Meets World), playing lead character Maya Hart throughout the series which run for three seasons from June 27, 2014 until January 20, 2017. Aside of that lead role success, Sabrina also starred in the 2016 Disney Channel Original Movie Adventures Of Babysitting (a remake of 1987 film of the same name), where she took the lead role of Jenny Parker.
Aside of acting, Sabrina also voiced in Disney Junior series Sofia The First as Princess Vivian in 2013, and expanded her voice acting career through the Disney XD animated series Milo Murphy's Law (spinoff of Phineas & Ferb where Carpenter also guest-voiced in two season 3 episodes in 2012) from 2016 until 2019 voicing Melissa Chase.

C. Post-Disney acting career
Outside Disney, Sabrina has also starred in numerous films such as Tall Girl (2019 and 2022), Work It (2020), The Short History of The Long Road (2019), and The Hate U Give (2018). For her lead role of Nola in 2019 film The Short History of The Long Road, Carpenter won the SCAD Savannah Film Awards for Best Performance in 2019.

D. Breakout and outstanding career as a singer-songwriter and musician
As we said that Sabrina made her debut as a singer in 2011 with her single "Fall Apart" under a independent (indie) label, but that was until 2013, when she signed a five-album contract with Hollywood Records, one of the flagship labels under Universal Music Group which also co-owned Disney Music Group. Her debut EP Can't Blame a Girl for Trying released in April 2014. The four-track EP consists of two lead singles: "Can't Blame A Girl For Trying" and "The Middle Of Starting Over".

In 2015, Carpenter released her debut studio album Eyes Wide Open, with two lead singles "We'll Be The Stars" and "Eyes Wide Open"; the latter which won the 2016 Radio Disney Music Award for Best Anthem. The following year in 2016, Carpenter transformed into dance-pop style with her maturely second album Evolution (stylized as EVOLution), consisting of two lead singles "On Purpose" and "Thumbs"; the latter which co-written by Muni Long (then known as Priscilla Renea) originally recorded as a demo in April 2016 for Renea's second album Coloured (2018) before eventually given her writting rights to Carpenter. Besides Carpenter, Long had also co-wrote songs for other pop singers like Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, and Ariana Grande.

- More mature material
In 2018, Carpenter released her two-part album Singular; the first part released in November 2018 consisted of two singles "Almost Love" and "Sue Me"; while the second part released in June 2019 with three singles "Pushing 20", "Exhale" and "In My Bed". On March 21, 2019, Carpenter released a collaboration single with Norwegian-American DJ Alan Walker titled "On My Way", which featured on Walker's second production album World Of Walker (2021). "On My Way" became one of the most viral songs throughout 2019 and marked Carpenter's first entry of Billboard Hot 100.

- Island Records era
After ending a five-album deal with Hollywood Records in 2020, Carpenter signed with Island Records in 2021, one of Universal Music Group's flagship labels. Her debut single with Island Records was "Skin" released in January 2021. Later that year, Carpenter announced that she will release her first album under Island label (fifth overall) sometime in 2022. The album was preceeded with two singles "Skinny Dipping" and "Fast Times" released in September 2021 and February 2022 respectively. On March 2022, Carpenter announced that the album will be titled Emails I Can't Send, and released on July 15, 2022. The album spawned two other singles "Vicious" and "Nonsense"; the latter became one of the most viral songs in 2022 and charted inside top 20 in Billboard song chart (Hot 100). A repackaged version of the album, Emails I Can't Send FWD: features four additional tracks, including a new single "Feather" released in March 2023. To promote the album, Carpenter embarked a tour in more than 40 countries worldwide from August 2022 to July 2023. Throughout the tour and other further live performances, Carpenter regularly modified the outro of her single "Nonsense" into different versions.

- Success with "Espresso"
Carpenter kicked off 2024 by releasing a duet single with Norwegian band Girl In Red titled "You Need Me Now?" in February 2024. It marked her third pop-rock single after her 2015 single "Eyes Wide Open" and her 2022 single "Fast Times". Carpenter then released her dance-pop single titled "Espresso" on April 11, 2024 and performed the song live at Coachella in the following day. The song became a big success, debuting at number seven in Billboard Hot 100, and peaked into number four two weeks later. Outside U.S., the song is also her biggest hit by topping the British/UK charts for two consecutive weeks running.

- Opening for Taylor Swift
Sabrina first attended a Taylor Swift concert in 2010, when Swift toured for her Fearless Tour. Sabrina said that someday she will open for her (Swift) in her next concerts.....
On June 2, 2023, Swift announced on her social media that the opening act performer for her Eras Tour concerts in South America and Australia and Asia-Pacific legs will be Sabrina Carpenter. Sabrina reacted that it's an honor to open for Swift in those legs because Carpenter previously attended Swift's concerts during her Fearless, Speak Now, and Red tours, and it became Carpenter's dream came true. Carpenter also covered some of Swift's singles. One of Carpenter's early singles, "The Middle Of Starting Over" (pictured above) was compared to Swift's early works.

E. What's next for Sabrina Carpenter in the next 25 years?
For the next 25 years, Sabrina Carpenter will become mature singer-songwriter and actress with mature concepts as well. With her most recent single "Espresso" hitting the top-five at Billboard Hot 100, we believe that her next albums and singles with Island label will be on top of music charts worldwide. We will also expect that she could win on some of major music awards like Grammy Awards. Albeit her rivalry against Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Tate McRae, Carpenter will overcome the rivalry with her own music masterpiece.
