2024 Monaco Grand Prix: Home sweet home as Leclerc cruises for home victory

Monte Carlo, Monaco – May 26, 2024 should be the day to remember for Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc. Racing in front of his home crowds, the Scuderia Ferrari driver never looked back throughout the race amidst chaos behind him. McLaren driver Oscar Piastri hunted for his maiden Formula 1 win, but the Australian lost his patience and ended up finished 2nd in the race behind Leclerc, who celebrated his long-waited home race win since debuting in F1 in 2018. Leclerc's teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. completed the podium in third place. For Leclerc, winning his home race in Monaco is his childhood dream became reality.

Meanwhile, championship leader Max Verstappen finished 6th place after the Red Bull Racing driver suffered grip issues throughout the race. Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez involved in the opening lap huge crash with Haas drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen. Thankfully, both Perez, Hulkenberg and Magnussen walked away from the incident without any serious injuries, but unable to rejoin the race.
