BREAKING: Hamilton joins Ferrari from 2025

Maranello – Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton will begin a new chapter of his career, after the British driver signed a multi-year contract for Scuderia Ferrari factory constructor on Thursday (February 1) starting 2025 season. This means his Mercedes era will come to the end at the end of 2024 season.
Hamilton isn't the only British driver to drive the Prancing Horse; the last two British drivers driving for Ferrari were Nigel Mansell (1989-1990) and Eddie Irvine (1996-1999); however the last British driver to win the world title with Ferrari was John Surtees in 1964.

The speculation of rumors that Hamilton would join Ferrari began in 2021, after Sebastian Vettel left Ferrari for Aston Martin, however, he lost the seat to Carlos Sainz Jr. who moved from McLaren. Then in 2022, Hamilton offered the contract from Alpine Renault after Fernando Alonso moved to Aston Martin following Vettel's retirement from F1. That same year, Hamilton extended his contract with Mercedes until 2025. In 2023, Sainz decided to not renew his contract with Ferrari after his teammate Charles Leclerc extended his Ferrari contract until 2027. Due to Mercedes' poor performance and Ferrari's began more competitive, Ferrari again offered Hamilton a contract, which he accepted in a multi-year term on February 1, 2024.

Could Hamilton join his idol Michael Schumacher to become F1 world champion with Ferrari? We'll wait and see......
