What to watch for this weekend? Sporting events on first weekend of September 2023

This weekend, there are lots of sporting events to watch this weekend, from soccer, motor racing, to professional wrestling. And here are some of the sport events to watch this weekend (September 1st-3rd, 2023)! Which one do you want to watch this weekend?

1. FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Monza, Italy – This weekend, Formula 1 heads to the temple of speed for the 14th race of the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The Italian Grand Prix weekend action starts with FP1 and FP2 on Friday, September 1, in preparation for qualifying on Saturday, September 2, and the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, September 3. Reigning world champion Max Verstappen comes into the weekend with a 138-point lead over his Red Bull team mate, Sergio 'Checo' Perez, in the championship and on the brink of getting a record 10th consecutive win in a row. Last year's race saw Verstappen come through the field after taking an engine penalty to take a dominant victory over Charles Leclerc. 2. US Open Tennis

New York City, NY – The 2023 US Open is the 143rd annual edition of tennisUS Open and the fourth and final Grand Slam event of the year. It is being held on outdoor hard courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City.

The 2023 US Open is the 143rd consecutive edition of the tournament and will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park of Queens in New York City. The tournament is being held on 17 Laykold hard courts.
The Arthur Ashe stadium will host the men's and women's singles final matches for the 2023 US Open Tennis championship.
The tournament is an event run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is part of the 2023 ATP Tour and the 2023 WTA Tour calendars under the Grand Slam category. The tournament will consist of both men's and women's singles and doubles draws, as both doubles draws will return to standard 64 players, as singles players will remain in standard 128 person format in each category. There are also singles and doubles events for both boys and girls (players under 18), which are part of the Grade A category of tournaments.

The tournament is played on hard courts and takes place over a series of 17 courts with Laykold surface, including the three existing main showcourts – Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium and Grandstand.

Carlos Alcaraz and Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek are the men's and women's singles defending champions. Alcaraz already won his 2nd grand slam title at Wimbledon.

3. WWE Payback

Pittsburgh, PA – The 2023 Payback will be the upcoming seventh Payback professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It will be held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event will take place during Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the PPG Paints Arena in PittsburghPennsylvania, and will be the first Payback held since 2020. It also marks the first Payback held on a Saturday and in September, as well as the first to livestream on Peacock in the United States and Binge in Australia, as well as Disney+ in Asia-Pacific. This will also be WWE's first PPV and livestreaming event held in Pittsburgh since 2018 Extreme Rules in July 2018, which was at the same arena. The theme of the event is wrestlers seeking payback or vengeance against their opponents.
PPG Paints Arena will host the 2023 WWE Payback.
