Ten years on since Liv and Maddie's pilot episode aired

STEVENS POINT, WI and LOS ANGELES, CA – It has been ten years since Disney Channel's popular teen drama series Liv and Maddie aired a very first episode "Twin-A-Rooney". The series since then became one of the most watched shows throughout mid 2010s (until it ended on late March 2017), alongside Disney Channel's rival show KC Undercover and two Nickelodeon shows The Thundermans and Make It Pop. The series is famously known for Dove Cameron's dual roles as the twins Liv and Maddie Rooney as well as acting debuts for Joey Bragg (who starred in 2021's Call Your Mother) and Tenzing Norgay Trainor (who currently starred in 2023 Netflix original series Freeridge).
- Series summary
The series centers the life of twin sisters Liv and Maddie Rooney alongside her parents Pete and Karen Rooney and their younger brother Joey and Parker Rooney. Liv has just returned home after spent four years in Hollywood performing in her musical show called Sing It Loud!. During her days at her hometown in Wisconsin, the Rooney siblings attended the Ridgewood High School, where the twins are in 11th grade, Joey is in 10th grade and Parker in 6th grade. The siblings are also in relationships during Ridgewood days: Liv with Holden, Maddie with either Diggie or Josh, and Joey with Willow. They also met new friends like Andie Bustamante and Dump Truck. Due to her popularity gains, Liv stars in films and series such as Space Werewolf as Tristan Lykan (end of season 1) and Voltage as Skyvolt (near end of season 3).

However, the boiling point happened in the season 3 finale, when Maddie accepted her scholarship from SCSU, Liv gets furious with Maddie and forced to let Maddie go to California without goodbye. Liv then changed her mind and apologized Maddie for betraying her. As the result, the twins along with the family (except Pete) moved to California after Deckard Shaw destroyed their family's Wisconsin house.
Moving to California, they met new family members like Dena (Karen's sister) and her daughter Ruby, whom Liv and Maddie recognized as their "sorta-sister". Liv takes Ruby to perform in her new musical show called Sing It Louder!!, while Joey and Parker attended BOOMS science high school, where they met new friends such as Val Wishart, Skeeter Parham and Finch.

When Liv prepared to perform in a live musical show called Sing It Live!!!, she's diagnosed with vocal nodules. As the result, the doctors advised her not to perform in the live musical, but she ignored it. She performs "My Destiny" in front of millions of television viewers, but after she sung, she started to lost her voices and immediately taken to the hospital for surgery which required ten days to recover. After the surgery is successful, Liv recovered with her better singing voices.
