2023 Miami GP results: Verstappen beats teammate Perez to increase the championship lead

Miami, FL – Max Verstappen returns to the top step of the podium after the reigning world champion beats his Red Bull Racing teammate Sergio Perez who led from pole for 48 laps. Despite started from ninth on the grid, the Dutchman stormed through the field by overtaking the Mercedes drivers (Lewis Hamilton and George Russell) and the Ferrari drivers (Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr.) before passing his Mexican teammate on lap 49. Since then, Verstappen didn't look back until the checkered/finish flag waved on lap 57. Perez finished 2nd with Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso completed the podium in third.  
With the win, Verstappen increases his lead in the drivers championship from teammate Perez, while Red Bull is still the toughest constructor to beat by anyone.

Just two days before the raceday, the cast of popular Fast & Furious movie franchise took a visit to Miami circuit in order to promote their upcoming sequel Fast X, which will be released in theaters on May 19. The cast also took a ride with elite Formula 1 drivers like Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Lando Norris (McLaren), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo).
