2022 Emilia Romagna GP - Is this the time Verstappen fight his way back?
IMOLA – After another gutting DNF in Australia, Max Verstappen enters Imola with confidence to answer the challenge from current championship leader Charles Leclerc. The Dutchman snatched pole in both sprint and main races. After winning the sprint race on Saturday, the Red Bull Racing driver told that he'll fight his way back whoever his rivals are.
Started 2nd on the grid, Leclerc who was favorite to win in Ferrari's home turf, stumbled in the early stages of the race after his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. (who renewed his contract with Ferrari until 2024 on Thursday) crashed out in the opening lap after his collision with ex-McLaren teammate Lando Norris who later finished 3rd in the race. Verstappen is uncatchable since throughout the 63-lap race. While attempting to catch the Red Bull drivers Verstappen and his teammate Sergio Perez, Leclerc spun-off on the final lap, and ended up finished P6, behind Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo) and George Russell (Mercedes) who collided at Imola last year. The Monegasque's championship lead has started to cut by just 27 points as F1 heads to Miami in two weeks.YES BOYS 🔥

Winning here today caps off a perfect weekend for us. Very happy with the performance from the car and the team this weekend, so thank you to @redbullracing for that.
Good to see @SChecoPerez coming in second, let’s build on this #ImolaGP pic.twitter.com/1bk18rCOVh
I gave it all but went over the limit at the end. Sorry to the team and to all the tifosi that supports us. Instead of a P3, it ended up in a P6. We’ll come back stronger.

Verstappen must to keep his title hopes alive if his Red Bull engines had no more malfunctions until the end of the season.
