2022 Australian Grand Prix - Leclerc rules at Albert Park

MELBOURNE – Charles Leclerc is still the man to beat after winning two out of first three races of 2022 Formula 1 season. Started from pole, the Monegasque managed his Scuderia Ferrari SF-75 endured through the 58 hottest laps of the race under the Melbourne sun. Moreover, Leclerc also set his first race grand slam record of his career (pole, win and fastest lap in a race) that makes the 24 year-old Monegasque seemingly untouchable at Albert Park Street Circuit.

- Verstappen and Sainz' dramatic DNF
At Albert Park, Verstappen got some Sakhir dejavu.

Leclerc's main rivals Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Carlos Sainz Jr. (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) are among favorites to beat the championship leader. However, both of the rivals got stumbled as Sainz spun-off into gravel, while defending champion Verstappen got a dejavu from Bahrain.

- Another chapter of the Silver Arrows resurrection
Mercedes are satisfied with P3 and P4 finish benefitting Verstappen and Sainz' DNFs. George Russell scored his career maiden F1 podium after his 63rd career start (3rd with Mercedes). Fourth place is good enough for Hamilton to finish the 2022 Australian Grand Prix, as the Briton heads to Imola in two weeks.
