Halo saved Schumacher from serious injuries after huge qualifying crash

JEDDAH – The qualifying session for 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was interrupted by Mick Schumacher's high speed crash at Jeddah Street Circuit, Saturday evening (26/03). Thankfully, the 23 year-old German driver escaped from any injuries sustained from the crash.

Unfortunately, the Haas team announced on Sunday morning (27/03) that Schumacher will forced to miss the Saudi Arabian GP race for further recovery progress.

- How 'halo' saved Schumi junior and other drivers
The 'halo' which introduced in 2018 once again saved the drivers. It placed above the cockpit to protect the drivers from dangerous objects and high speed crashes at speeds over 200 mph (321 km/h). No Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 drivers who suffered serious injuries since 'halo' introduction. Only Formula 2 driver Anthoine Hubert who was killed with 'halo' during 2019 Belgian F2 round.
