Roland-Garros 2021 women's singles final: Barbora's grand slam winning dream came true at Roland-Garros

Barbora Krejcikova has proved against the wrong critics after the 25-year-old Czechlovakian underdog defeated Russian world no. 32 Anastasia Pavlychenkova in the women's singles championship match of Roland-Garros 2021 on Saturday (June 12). Barbora's victory made her to became the 2nd Czechlovakian female player to win in the grand slam title since Hana Mandlikova in 1981 Roland-Garros (and first in the Open era since Petra Kvitova at 2014 Wimbledon).

Throughout the tournament, even before the championship match, Krejcikova has some up and down performances to beat world's top ranked players including Naomi Osaka, Asleigh Barty, Serena Williams and defending champion Iga Swiatek. However, Krejcikova managed to control her game better enroute to win her maiden grand slam title at Roland-Garros.
