Chelsea won the Champions League title

Two weeks after losing to Leicester City in the FA Cup final earlier in May, Chelsea F.C.'s dream to win the UEFA Champions League have been realised on Saturday night (29/05) after beating Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League final match at Porto Stadium, Porto, Portugal. The Blues (Chelsea's team nickname) previously won the Europa League title in 2019.

Having finished fourth in the 2020-21 Premier League standings, Chelsea have some up and down season progress. The Blues sacked their manager Frank Lampard in late January due to their poor performances in the previous five matches from late December 2020 to mid January 2021. The team then hired Thomas Tuchel who previously coached Paris Saint Germain in the past two seasons. Since then, they played more consistently.

The five-time Premier League champions scored the only goal of the match (2021 UEFA Champions League final) courtesy of Kai Havertz.
