UFC 261: Usman remains unbeaten

Nigerian fighter Kamaru Usman continues his reign as the UFC men's welterweight world champion by defeating Jorge Masvidal by round 2 knock-out on UFC 261 at Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday (24/4).

The 33-year-old Nigerian fighter previously defeated Gilbert Burns on UFC 258 in February, but Usman was later sidelined by his minor injuries sustained which he was able to recover two weeks prior to his title defense rematch fight against Masvidal. With the win, Usman became the first muslim fighter mostly to defend the UFC title (by any weight category) with four winning fights (the record previously being held by Khabib Nurmagomedov with three winning fights).

In the other fights of UFC 261, Rose Namajunas reclaimed her UFC women's straweight title from Chinese rising star Zhang Weili; while Valentina Shevchenko defended her UFC women's flyweight title by defeating Jessica Andrade.
