Spieth wins Texas Open
27-year-old Jordan Spieth returns to his winning ways after clinching his 11th career PGA Tour win in Texas Open at TPC San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas. It was his first PGA Tour win since his last was on the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
The former world number one golfer had already finished several top-tens in his previous tournaments prior to Texas Open; one of them including the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This marked the incredible comeback from the former University of Texas graduate, after passed through three frustrating years without a win.
It was also previously reported that Spieth had sustained shoulder injuries after being collapsed during the final round of the 2018 Open Championship that caused the three-time major champion being sidelined from the tournaments he had played in 2019 and 2020.
Spieth is set to return to Augusta National Golf Club at Augusta, Georgia, where he took his first major title at the Masters Tournament back in 2015.
