Why did Westwood too ambitious to end his 11-year PGA Tour winning draught?
Lee Westwood has already finished back-to-back runner-up finishes on his most recent tournaments played on the PGA Tour, achieved on Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship. The 47-year-old Englishman is on his attempt to end his PGA Tour winning draught since his previous PGA Tour win on St. Jude Classic in 2010.
Westwood is cited as one of the most successful golfer in the European Tour on 21st century, having won the Order Of Merit title in 2000, as well as two Race To Dubai titles in 2009 and 2020. He's also attempted to win his first major championship title after came close to win the title at The Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and U.S. PGA Championship.
By his 50th birthday on 24 April 2023, Westwood will become an eligible member of both the European Legends Tour and PGA Tour Champions.
