Download Coldplay album Parachutes: Coldplay's debut album

Coldplay have been emerged as one of the most popular rock bands in the world, with eight studio albums: from Parachutes (2000) to the most recent Everyday Life (2019).

Parachutes is the band's debut studio album released on July 10, 2000. The album comprises four major chart-hitters: "Shiver", "Don't Panic", "Trouble", and most famously "Yellow".

The production of their debut album took place between 1998 to 1999. During the album's production, the band's drummer Will Champion nearly departed from the band because of the errors during the album's recording.

The location of music video filming for "Yellow" took place at Studland Bay in Dorset, Southwest England.

"Yellow" became Coldplay's first ever number one hit in the UK. The album Parachutes won Album Of The Year at the 2001 BRIT Awards.

The album is highly dedicated to drummer Will Champion's mother Sara, who died of cancer a month before the album's release.

In 2001, Indonesian rock band Cokelat released their single titled "Karma". The song was often compared similar to Coldplay's "Shiver" which has similar tempo and melody.

In 2010, American rock band Paramore released their single "The Only Exception" from their debut album Brand New Eyes (2010). The song's opening guitar line was compared similar to Coldplay's "Yellow". "The Only Exception" was written by Paramore's frontwoman Hayley Williams in 2006 after attending (not performing) Coldplay's North American leg for Twisted Logic Tour, and was slated for their (Paramore's) debut EP Riot (2007).
