Coldplay Moon Music album review

London – 24 years since the release of their debut album Parachutes and three years since their latest album Music Of The Spheres Vol. 1: From Earth with Love, British alternative rock band Coldplay are back with their new album Music Of The Spheres Vol. 2: Moon Music (or simply shortened as Moon Music for U.S. market). And today (as the album's release date) we review on what would be the band's tenth and final album since they formed in 1997.

- Production and composition
Coldplay performing in Jakarta on October 2023.

The production for this album took place during the middle of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour between January 2023 until August 2024. According to the band's frontman and lead vocalist Chris Martin, the band spent the majority of the album's production by using recycled materials, marking the first band ever to do so. The earlier idea came from the band's drummer Will Champion during the production for their 2nd album A Rush Of Blood To The Head (2002) but it was not realized until their next five albums prior to their seventh album A Head Full Of Dreams (2015). According to Champion, the idea came after his mother Sara died of cancer prior to the release of the band's debut album Parachutes (2000), so therefore Champion dedicated his idea to his late mother, as frontman Martin agreed. The band also carried flamboyant record producers Max Martin and Jon Hopkins for the additional production of this album.

- Singles
The album is precedeed by its first single "Feels Like I'm Falling In Love" released on June 20. It followed by their next single "We Pray", released on August 23, which features Burna Boy, Elyanna, Little Simz, and former Disney Channel star Tini. Two promotional singles for the album are "All My Love" and "One World"; the latter featured the backing vocals recorded and submitted by Coldplay fans worldwide.

- Promotion and tour
To promote the album, Coldplay will continue their MOTS World Tour from October 30 in Melbourne, Australia until the tour's final date on September 8, 2025 in London, England at Wembley Stadium. Additional tour concert venues included in Sydney (Australia), Auckland (New Zealand), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Mumbai (India), Hong Kong (China) and Seoul (South Korea).
