2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - Vettel prepares for his final F1 race

ABU DHABI – Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel is set to race for the final time to bow out his incredible Formula 1 Grand Prix career at this evening's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (Nov. 20). The German will say goodbye from F1 with his four world titles. His former title rivals like Fernando Alonso (Ferrari and currently Alpine) and Sir Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), as well as Vettel's Red Bull successor Max Verstappen bid final farewell to the German driver who had spent for more than 15 years in his F1 career.
Vettel had raced with five different constructors in his F1 career: Sauber-BMW (now Alfa Romeo and from 2026 Audi) (2007), Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) (2007-2008), Red Bull Racing (2009-2014), Ferrari (2015-2020) and Aston Martin (2021-2022). He became the first driver to achieve podium in four different constructors except Sauber-BMW.

Following Vettel's retirement in F1, his place in Aston Martin will be taken by Alonso for 2023 season onwards. Verstappen will starting from pole for this evening's Abu Dhabi GP; the Dutchman has already broke Vettel and Michael Schumacher's record tally on his (Verstappen) 2nd world title winning season.
