2021 Roland-Garros tournament preview

The 2021 Roland-Garros (French Open) as the tennis' 2nd major grand slam tournament of the year will set the stage for the world's top ranked male and female tennis players who can master the clay court. In the men's singles, world number three Rafael Nadal will continue his title winning streak since the Spaniard won in 2017 through last year in 2020, where he defeated world number one Novak Djokovic in last year's final. Djokovic himself already won the Australian Open title earlier in 2021 after defeating world number five Daniil Medvedev in the final. The 33 year-old Serbian had advanced once to the final in 2020 since his 2016 triumph.

Rafael Nadal has been undefeated at Roland-Garros since 2017

Iga Swiatek (pictured in 2019) won the Roland-Garros title in 2020, thus becoming the 2nd youngest ever champion in all four grand slams (Australian Open, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon and US Open) history since Monica Seles

In the women's singles, Iga Swiatek will enter the tournament as the defending champion, but the 20 year-old youngster from Poland must beware of the advantages from the world's top players including Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, and current world number one Asleigh Barty who won the Roland-Garros title in 2019.
